Senior Girls

The Senior Girls' Volleyball Team battled hard over the September 26th and 27th weekend in their second tournament of the season. It was filled with learning, growth and fun. Over the course of the event, every single player showed improvement both individually and as a team. Their captain Maraika Mcconchie stated that “In this tournament we only had two subs, which was exhausting but gave everyone a chance to play and work on their mistakes. Overall, we still have a long way to go before North Islands, but if we continue to improve like this we will be some tough competition.”

Their determination and positive attitude carried them through every single match resulting in them placing 7th out of 28 teams. The score only represents a fraction of their success, and what stood out most was their support for one another and the unity the team had throughout the tournament. No matter how tough the opponent was, they played with perseverance and fought for every point with high effort. They played six games in total, winning all three on the first day, and adding another victory on the second. Their energy, teamwork, and spirit never came short whether win or lose, they proved that accomplishment is about more than the score.

This weekend greatly showed the team’s progress and now they are working hard every chance they get to ensure even more success. The coaches are very proud of the girls’ dedication and the energy they bring and are looking forward to seeing the team reach its full potential. As the season continues, the girls are proving that they are not to be overlooked and are carrying the Scorpion Spirit to every game, congrats to the Senior Girls Volleyball Team.

Junior Boys

Over the September 26th and 27th weekend, the Junior Boys' Volleyball Team had their first tournament. They won First Place in the finals after some hard fought games. While interviewing Mr. Massey he said, “they did really good at their serve-receive, and as the games went on, they got better and better.” The tournament went super well, on Friday they won the first game and lost the second game. In the finals on Saturday, they lost the first set, which made the game a nail biter, but they came back and won the second and third sets to win the Finals!
