“This year has been a big learning opportunity” -Caedmon Mawhinny

The Senior  Boys Volleyball  season  was filled  with  patience and  perseverance,   bringing growth and depth to the team.  Their season started off with a sense of determination, as returning players welcomed new teammates and created stronger connections with peers to build a strong foundation as a team. Quincy Brinks stated that “the team has had a lot of  ups and downs, and has developed more patience because of it but unfortunately, I couldn’t finish the  season  with the team due to my injury. ” Despite different challenges, the team created a positive mindset, encouraging each other with each step. On November 3rd, our senior boys secured a victory to get them to the North Islands, extending their season to  its  fullest. The  game was a nail-biter, but ultimately, they pulled through, winning three out of four sets against Ladysmith.

“This year has been a big learning opportunity; even though we haven't won a bunch, we improved immensely.” said Caedmon Mawhinney, showing his own growth and understanding of the season.

Caedmon also stated his hopes for next year, being “to make it further in playoffs than we do this year.” Senior Boys came fifth overall after their exciting weekend at North Islands. They began their tournament with a solid win against Brooks setting positivity for the rest of their weekend. They continued with a loss against Wellington, following  with a  battle against Timberline, pulling through with a victory and ending on a high note.
