Team faces tough opponents in Mid Island Playoffs

by Ever Wirth

The start of the Junior Boys Soccer season was evenly matched, with a win against the Brentwood B team and a loss against Kelsey. In the game against Brentwood A, everyone tried their hardest but we lost 5-0. With Islands coming up very soon, the Junior Boys felt ready to face any team. The team works together during games, helping each other and talking to make good plays. Mr. Langdon coaches them to be good teammates and to play fairly. Playing on the team helps them stay active, make friends, and build confidence.

Even if they don't always win, they enjoy playing and learning new things. Being a part of the Junior Boys soccer team is a fun way to play soccer, get exercise and to work with others.

On Thursday October 23rd the Junior Boys had games against Kelsey and Brentwood that determined if the Junior Boys would go to the North Island Championship Tournament. Their first game against Kelsey was a very hard-fought game; they worked together as a team using communication and supported each other with every play. The game ended in a score of 5-2 for Kelsey.

Right after their game with Kelsey they played against Brentwood A. The team was very tired at this point but gave their all, the score at the end of the game was 7-1 for Brentwood. Sadly, the Junior Boys didn't get to go to North Islands this year, but they played their hardest and had great sportsmanship throughout the season.
