The school dance is an especially important event that brings the school community together in many ways. The planning of the dance took about three weeks and there was a lot of collaboration involved. Those who helped plan the event said they found it very exciting. The decorations were placed nicely around the school; there were streamers on the upper hallway railing, balloons around the Multipurpose room, and a lot of decorative globes around the school. The photo booth was there, and it was booming with lots of people taking pictures. There was delicious food such as pizza, chips, pop, and assorted candies for everyone to enjoy. There were around one-hundred-and-twenty people present at this school dance.

We created a survey to gather the students feedback of the dance and that consisted of questions such as; How good was the music? How was the sense of the community? How were the concession stands? Was the dance fun?  How was last year's spring dance compared to this one?  Were there more people this year? And finally: What was your favorite part?

Here is what students interviewed said:

Violet Herperger (8) said that the music was pretty good and said that the dance was fun.

Alil’a Perlux de la l’o (9) said the dance was good but she thought the music was questionable. She said the concession was relatively awesome, and that there were 100% more people than last year. Her favourite part of the dance was the photo booth and said that overall, the dance was similar to last year.

Darwyn Chan (8) said the music was white girl music and it was good. Darwyn said the community was really good. The concession stand was delicious, and the service was pretty good. The dance was really fun. He said the music and photo booth were his favourite parts.

Robyn Demner (8) said the music was ok, the community was great, and the concession was yummy.

The school dance brought over 120 students together through weeks of planning, lively decorations, food, music, and a popular photo booth, with most students describing it as a fun and strong community event!
