Current students in Mr. Legun’s Art Class and Ms. Hambrook’s Work Experience were recently invited on a trip to the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria to take part in their “A View from Here” program. Participants were given a tour of the gallery’s exhibits, highlighting works created by Indigenous and Canadian artists from the nineteenth century to the present, and their Asian art collection. There was a specific focus on the style, history, and contributions of 3 artists; Emily Carr, Katsushika Hokusai, and Chris Paul.  The tour was followed with a workshop in creating an art piece that blended the techniques used by these artists; Abstraction, Printmaking, and Formline.

The gallery currently has 3 temporary exhibitions, 5 permanent installations/collections, a workshop/youth art area, and a gift shop.
