Here at GISS, our Physical Health and Education department offers a wide variety of gym classes that allow students to explore different sports, learn teamwork, and stay active. Each type of class helps students build new skills, improve their health, and discover what kind of activity they enjoy most. Among the many options are Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Fitness and Conditioning. Each sport specialist course provides unique benefits and challenges, giving students the chance to grow both physically and mentally.

Soccer PHE is one of the most fast paced and team-oriented classes. It focuses on coordination, agility, and communication. Students learn to dribble, pass, and shoot, while developing both endurance and teamwork.

Volleyball PHE, my favourite, helps students build quick reflexes and coordination. Students learn to bump, set, and strike, all while supporting each other as a team. It's an exciting sport that keeps everyone moving and focused.

Basketball PHE teaches strategy, speed, and precision. Students practice dribbling, shooting, and passing while staying alert and active. The sport builds confidence and strong teamwork skills.

Fitness and Conditioning PHE focuses on personal improvement rather than competition. Students work on strength, flexibility, and stamina through different exercises. It's a good way to stay healthy and each individual has their own pace and is provided with lots of different gym equipment.

Overall, gym is a great class to be part of, even in the non-mandatory years, like your Senior years. It's a good way to build up both your physical and mental health!
