An academic field trip is a valuable opportunity for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom walls and connect to real-world experiences. At Gulf Islands Secondary School, field trips are designed not only to enrich academic knowledge, but also to encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and personal growth. By engaging with new environments and applying concepts learned in class to practical situations, students gain a deeper understanding of their subjects and develop skills that cannot be fully realized through textbooks alone.

GISPA recently went on a trip to see The Lion King live in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. Along with that, they went to A Doll's House in the Arts Club Theatre. Their trip was an amazing bonding opportunity to kick off the school year in a great way!

These field trips provide participants with a chance to explore new perspectives, strengthen teamwork, and reflect on the importance of experiential learning. It is also a time to represent GISS in the wider community, showing responsibility, curiosity and respect.
