This art piece has made me think intuitively, giving me time to really understand how I feel about art in general. This theme of Passion vs Practicality delves into where you want to settle yourself into place, what truly matters to you, and why that is important. During the process of this piece, I thought about what I want the viewer to see and notice. It brings your eyes to a bit of a middle viewpoint, down the path of the alleyway. This alleyway represents the pathway you choose to take, and on the other side is what will come out of it. I spent a long time on determining how I wanted to represent the feeling of falling out of touch with your interests in a career viewpoint. Overall, while passion can be important for finding enjoyment and fulfillment in life, purpose is what I want to find within those passions.

The important information within this art piece is the message. The message it displays is how society has been progressing towards getting rid of art (especially through AI), and how art isn’t something you can make a career out of. But what people don’t always understand is that art is one of the most crucial parts of society, and without it, many things would not exist. - Emma
