How did this all start? And how did you guys become a band?

Conner: In Mr. Legun's art class, we made this band. It was like a joke kind of thing going on, but that band didn't last too long and it kind of went through its revolutions and then broke up. And out of the ashes, me and Rowan built a new band.

Rowan: Stuck together and built it from the ground up. Then Kyrus started drumming and then we got Lense, who was an exchange student, and he did bass for us first. When he went back to Germany, Oscar took his place as basist.

So you’ve been a band for over a year now?

Oscar: Yeah, a year and a bit

Were all of you individually always interested in playing music?

Oscar: We we all separately interested in it before. I started playing guitar a bunch of years before this band and I was in GISPA the year before and then me and Rowan were friends, and we knew we both played music, but we never played together until we were in the same music class that the band started in.

Connor: Rowan kind of introduced me to a lot of music. I've always loved art in general. More than just music. I just love art and artistic expression and music is kind of like, I wouldn't say the easiest. It's the easiest for me because I think it just comes naturally in a way and I think Rowan introduced me to a lot of music.

Rowan: I started playing music, like, a year before the band.

Kyrus: I started playing drums, I think, when I did the middle school band. I played trombone and then I did saxophone. And then I didn't play music until the band started and I was like, I want to be a part of this, I'm going to learn an instrument.

Where do you get your inspiration from for the band? If you had to name one artist or multiple artists?

Geese, Kimmerwinter, The Strokes, British Indie music, Led Zepelin, Limp Biscuit, Deftones

How was your most recent show, the Halloween performance?

Oscar: The turnout was good actually, it wasn't expected, there were a lot of people from school that I didn't know would be there, and then they were there. And that was cool.

Kyrus: The amount of people was like expected, but like who was actually there was unexpected.

Oscar: It was all DIY. We like set up everything ourselves

Connor: Yeah, it was a good show.

Do you have any upcoming shows or performances?

Rowan: We actually just recorded our first single

Oscar: Oh yeah! We can announce that now. We’ve got our producer working on it right now, and we don’t have a releas date yet but it will be out on all the streaming services

Rowan: And we have an album, but the single is called Can’t Read, Can’t Write

Stay tuned for Can't Read Can't Write!
